Adam and Eve
Genesis 19:1-29

Adam
In five days God created the heavens and the earth and all things in it. He separated the day from the night and the land from the seas. He created the sun, moon and stars. On the fifth day he created the birds to sing and fly in the sky and all kids of fish, creatures to swim in the waters. On the sixth day he created animals to walk on the earth and all kinds of crawling things.

There was one thing left to be made, the greatest of all living things. God made man. I was that first man and he named me Adam. I was different from all the animals. I could think, talk, and love. I could choose to do right or wrong. God is pleased when anyone chooses to love him and do right.

God placed me in a beautiful Garden called Eden. I did not have to work, but just take car of the Garden. God said I could eat from any tree in the Garden, but the one in the middle of the Garden-the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God said, "For the day you eat of it you shall surely die."

God charged me to care for the animals in the Garden and brought them by so I could name each one.

God noticed that the animals had mates, but I was lonely and said he would make a companion for me. God caused me to go into a deep sleep and took a rib from my chest and made a woman. Her name was Eve. We did not wear clothes, but we were not embarrassed.

Eve
One day I was talking to a serpent in the Garden. He asked if Adam and I were allowed to eat from every tree in the Garden. I said that God told us we could not eat from the tree in the middle of the Garden or we would surely die. The serpent told me I would not die. God knows that the day you eat from that tree your eyes will be opened and you will be like gods, knowing good from evil.

I liked the idea of having knowledge and noticed the fruit looked good so I picked a piece and ate it. I gave Adam a piece of the fruit and he ate it even though I knew that God commanded me not to.

Our eyes were opened immediately and we knew we were naked. We covered our bodies with fig leaves. Later, God came into the Garden and we were hidden.

Adam
God called for us and I told him we were hidden because we were naked. God asked if we had eaten from the forbidden tree and I told him the woman he gave me cause me to eat the fruit.

Eve
I told God the serpent caused me to do it.

God told the serpent he was cursed to crawl on the ground and eat the dust of the earth all the days of his life. God caused man to suffer pain and death and to earn his living by working.

God placed cherubim near the Garden and a flaming sword that turned in every direction to guard the tree of life.

Adam
Our story comes from the book of Genesis in the Old Testament. Now we would like to ask you some questions
