Old Testament

The Patriarchal Age began when Adam was created and ended when God by Moses lead the Children of Israel out of bondage of slavery in Egypt.

During the Patriarchal Age God spoke directly to individuals. The Scriptures records God speaking to Adam, Eve, Cain, Enoch, Noah, Job, Eliphaz the Temanite, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

God even walked with Enoch.

After the Children of Israel crossed the Red Sea God established a new nation, one from which the Christ would come. A new covenant and priesthood was established with the giving of the Ten Commandments. During this time God continued to speak to His people, primarily through their leaders and prophets. He would later speak to His people through Christ and His apostles through the written word guided by the Holy Spirit.
